Everything began in my lovely grandmother's kitchen-the heart of our house which always smelled of something great-breakfast, lunches and dinners all made in the home. It was here, in this heaven, that the very first creation of her famous deviled eggs was born. Every Sunday, she would stand right next to the old wooden countertop, mixing those ingredients with joy in her heart and precision that no one else had. It was not only a kitchen for cooking, but it formed the soul of the culinary tradition in my family to the Philippines.
What was once the humble, plain, and simple existence of the deviled egg became an out-of-this-world affair in her hands. Kitchen walls can tell many stories of laughter, family gathering, and the many experiments with new tastes, inspired by the need to make something classic exciting. It is on the foundation of this dear space that Deviled Egg Delights lays a foundation where the inspiration of my love of food and family continues into everything we create.
That zeal has passed generations, and it's living on today in me. The deviled egg, with its great history behind it and its ability to satisfy palettes from around the world, has always been the perfect canvas for creativity in my family. We have innovated the recipe while maintaining the sanctity of the original intact and done variations which appeal both to traditionalists who seek comfort in familiarity and adventurous eaters who want bold new flavors.
